Summer Wishlist!

My summer Wishlist

So I have decided to devise a list of things that I want to do this summer, so many summers in the past I have found myself trying to think back of something that I've done ( who remembers the first day back to primary school? Having to share something good you did? ).
So despite it being a fair way into summer I'm going to create this list and hopefully, fingers crossed, I can do the majority of these things ...

1. Spend time with family - holiday, days in and days out!
2. Go for a picnic - I think we might have one while on holiday with family and some friends have mentioned it as well, so a picnic is definitely on the cards!! :)
3. Go on a shopping trip with my sister - even if it's just into town, we haven't properly been shopping together on out own before so it will be nice!
4. Take lots of pictures - for my birthday I got a fuji film instax 8 which I adore, the pictures are so cute providing you get the right setting which it has takene a while to perfect but they are a great keepsake and make a change to be able to hold a picture than just see it on my phone or laptop!
5. Read A LOT! - I set myself a target this year as I found myself not reading much last year, so my target it 30 books and I've read 18 so far and with a huge English reading list I need to get going on more.
6. shop shop shop - need I say more?!
7. Get fit and healthy - I tried jogging but I'm not so good but a friend and I plan on joining a gym later this month!
8. Eat a lot of ice cream! This kind of contradicts this ^  but you have to have ice cream in summer! I'm loving lemon sorbet mmmmmm
9. Watch lots of films and listen to lots of music! :)
10. Change my hair!- it's just so boring at the moment but I plan on having it highlighted and it soon which I cannot wait for!!

And that's it for now! I can't wait to share more of my life with you guys! I recently reached 100 bloglovin followers which is amazing thanks so much!!

Please comment on what you want to do this summer and some more post ideas you would like to see me do!

Liebster Award

 The Liebster Award

I was recently nominated by two people for the Liebster award and i would like to say thank you to them both, they are the wonderful sara from http://www.simplysara.co.uk/  and Aino from http://www.toofabuloustofunction.blogspot.co.uk/ .

What is the Liebster Award?

The Liebster award is an award between bloggers in which the aim is to discover new blogs and bloggers. The rules are as follows...
1. Answer the 11 questions given to you by the person that nominated you.
2. Give 11 random facts about yourself.
3. nominate some bloggers yourself.
4. create 11 new questions for them to answer.

So i will start with the questions from Aino...

1.  What is your wierdest habit?

My wierdest habit is probably washing my hands a lot, i kinda have a thing about germs. :/

2. What is the stupidest thing you have ever cried for?

This would probably have to be silly arguements with friends when i was younger!

3. What would you do if you won the lottery?

This is difficult! I would give some to family and friends, some to a charity and then go on a massive spending spree.

4. What is your favourite beauty product?

My favourite beauty product at the moment has to be my eyebrow products. Having recently having my eyebrows arched at benefit i decided to get some new products to keep them looking good- these are the Maybelline brow drama and also the pencil, both in dark blonde.

My friend and i were actually discussing this and we really want to travel around Europe, that would be awesome!

I really struggled with this one and i'm still not certain as i have seen lots of wonderful things!

100% mascara- i look terrible without it!

Now for the questions from Sara...

1. Who would you say is your style icon?

I really like the style of the Youtubers Zoe Sugg and Tanya Burr- i think they are both so pretty and have great style, their videos are brilliant for beauty and clothing inspiration.  I also like to get inspiration from those around me, especially friends and even my younger sister- she has great style.

i haven't been blogging that long so i don't really have any of my own tips but some makeup tips i try to follow are to always moisturise before applying my make up as it keeps my skin healthy and i find it helps the makeup apply better and also keeping my makeup minimal as too much can have bad results!

4.  Your favourite high street foundation?

Bourjois healthy mix is so good! It has great coverage for me and the formula is just really nice plus it smells good too which is always a bonus!

5.  Do you have any pets?

A little bit of mystery...

One thing you may not know about me is how much i love to read, i may of included some of my favourite authors in my first post however that did not show the extent to which I LOVE BOOKS!!
Until recently i stuck to the same genre and kind of book because it was what i was comfortable with but i have realised that when you start trying new ones you have a lot of great books available to you.
One genre that i have found is amazing is mystery, therefore i decided it only fair that i share with you some of my top picks of mystery books.

1. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Gone Girl is probably my favourite out of all of the mystery books i am about to show you and that is because it is so engrossing, i'm pretty sure that i read this in a couple of days simply because i couldn't put it down. I found it a little difficult to get into to start with but that soon changed as the storyline became more apparent and understandable.
Gone Girl is written in two perspectives, these are husband and wife (however enough about that because i don't want to give too much away!)
The book follows the investigation of the dissapearance of Nick's wife Amy, as the story progresses you will feel more and more a part of the investigation team. The book is being made into a film and is being released this year so if i were you i would hurry and read the book before the film is out!

2. Paper Towns by John Green

Paper Towns was the third book i read by the brilliant John Green, the first being The Fault In Our Stars and the second Looking For Alaska. The books that i had read before were probably the most popular ones by John Green and despite agreeing that they were really awesome books, i think that Paper Towns is the best out of the three (i have since read Will Grayson Will Grayson and started An Abundance Of Katherines, and still hold my opinion that Paper Towns is the best).
The story flows really well throughout once again making it hard to put the book down, hence this was also another quick read for me. The story is based around a teenage boy, Quentin Jacobson who takes it upon himself to search for the missing neighbourhood girl Margo Roth Speigelman - who he has loved all his life, following her 'clues' will he find what he wants?!

3. Dash & Lily's book of dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan

This was one of the first books that i read with more than one author (that sounded stupid i could of just said two haha!), so i have to admit i was a little dubious as to how well it would fit together and if it would be apparent that there were two authors, my main worry was whether their writing styles would work together, you will be glad to know that even from the very beginning it became apparent that there was nothing to worry about, phew! The book is set at christmas time, and this is one of my favourite things as christmas is my favourite time of year ( it kind of had me wishing it was christmas so i would recommend reading this at christmas) and is about two lonely teenagers that manage to find each others company through a book of dares. You will be waiting throughout for them to meet and hopefully it will not dissapoint.

4. The Island by Sarah Singleton

I have one of my best friends to thank for this little gem as i believe it was year 8 and i saw her reading it and was in that phase where it was so cool to be reading the same book as someone else at the same time, what i did not realise is how much this book would end up meaning to me. The Island was one of the first books that i read that was a different style to what i was used to and it really opened my eyes to the genre of mystery.
Three friends Otto, Jen and Charlotte head to India for 'the trip of a lifetime' however it soon becomes a nightmare trip when Otto finds a dead girl, this followed by more disasters makes this an interesting read that is guaranteed to have you sitting on the edge of your seat. I do believe there is a sequel out and i cannot wait to get myself a copy!

That is all for my Genre favourites, i hope you like the post and consider reading at least one as they are amazing!!

Introducing my sister!

Nicola is my sister and when i told her about starting a blog she was really interested so i thought that it would be nice to include her in some way!
Now i know its a bit late now but Nicola and i discussed a few ideas and the one we liked the best was her having a monthly post on her favourites so here it is

Nicola's June Favourites

1. Nicola's first favourite is a nail polish, she is forever painting her nails and buying new nail polishes and this month has been no exception. Her particular favourite has been Leapfrog by MUA (which she actually took from me!), at £1 this is amazing value as it has a high quality finish and the shade is just perfect for summer, adding this to the super cute name it is just fab! The range is available at superdrug but you can also get it here on the MUA website, you can also find the rest of the collection available.

2.The second favourite is a hairstyle. It is perfect for keeping your hair out of the way when the weather is getting better and it still keeps your hair looking good. the style is quick and easy all you need to do is twist the hair into place and secure with a hair bobble.
3. This next one is a bit odd but now the weather is getting better Nicola said she has found herself taking more pictures of nature, she said and i quote "i just see a pretty view and have to take a picture". This one is of a local canal attraction that we recently visited with our family and in the sun it is just beautiful!
4. Nicola's final favourite of june is a shop and of course it is New Look (i'm pretty sure this is the only place she shops in! haha!). This picture shows an outfit she got from Newlook recently, the t-shirt can be found here and the jeans here , both are from the teen section which is from ages 9-15.

That's all for Nicola's favourites until next month! I would also like to share with you some of my favourites however with it being nearly half way through this month i think it is a bit late to post mine too, so you will have to wait until the end of this month when i will post my July favourites.

Bloglovin

My blog is now available on Bloglovin!!

A bit about Bloglovin-
Bloglovin is a website that allows you to view and keep up to date with your favourite bloggers and introduces you to new ones too.
Before starting this blog and i was considering it, i spent a lot of time looking at other blogs and it really encouraged me to start my own.
There is also now an app available making it even easier to find all of the bloggers you love in one place.

Hello!

This is my very first post which is super exciting.
I really wanted to start a blog ages ago and in the end I was too nervous as I didn't think I would be able to keep it up, however here I am and I believe I am now ready.

So a little bit about me...
My name is Laura
My birthday is the 15th of February
I have one sister and she is really funny although we do argue a lot!
Some of my favourite things to do are go shopping, spend time with friends and family, go to the cinema, listen to music and go to concerts and read!

Favourites!
Book/Author- I have read so many books that I find it hard to choose a single one that is my all time favourite, however I can guarentee that anything from the following authors I will love, Sophie Mckenzie, John Green and Rainbow Rowell ( my favourite type of books is contemporary).
Shops- For clothes it would have to be Primark as a bargain is always guaranteed and I also really like Forever 21 and New Look, and for makeup superdrug as they have a wide variety of brands that I like, some of these include Maybelline and Sleek.
Music- LAWSON!

So there is a little bit about me. I'm really looking forward to blogging more and I hope you enjoy my posts!
